The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce encourages parents and guardians of children who have expressed interest in business to enroll in the upcoming Junior CEO Program.
Junior CEO students learn the basics of business while managing and selling a strawberry-themed dessert restaurant. At the end of the course, students will open their own dessert stand, or another approved concept, in Santa Maria Town Center.
The six-week digital business education course was originally developed by Visalia Chamber, but is now licensed to Santa Maria, which hosts the program locally.
This program focuses on students who can communicate at the 6th grade level and covers 6 categories.
- business basics
- cost model
- Safety and food preparation
- Marketing and customer service
- money management
- Future plan
All sessions and office hours will be conducted via Zoom and feature local business leaders as guest speakers. For more information and to register for the event, visit his Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce website at http://santamaria.com/junior-ceo.
The course costs $25 per student and registration is required. The course starts on September 26th, so register as soon as possible to secure your seat.
