Welcome to Tanyel Tries. Tanyel Mustafa, beauty geek girlfriend at Lifestyle Reporter, tests the latest products and trends for a new beauty column to let you know if they’re in our approval or if they should be scrapped.
There aren’t many primers with such a high reputation in the beauty world, and Tatcha’s Silk Canvas Protective Primer is one of them.
Beauty fans will remember. Before TikTok and her Instagram reel, when the primer was published in 2018, YouTube’s beauty sparkle was filled with positive reviews for the primer.
But British shoppers have had to wait. Tatcha just landed in the UK and the product wasn’t even in the first drop.
But now, finally, fans can get their hands on it.
These days, it’s rare to get excited about getting a new slap. Given how it’s split up as part of my job right now (how quickly I get used to things…), I was curious to give this a try.
Selling at £48 on SpaceNK is an investment, so this column will always be candid about how well the product lives up to its claims and whether it’s really worth the money.
One of the cheaper versions that’s been on the British coast for years is Elf’s Poreless Putty Primer, which costs just £9.
Honestly, I’ve tried both now.I don’t think the elf version holds a candle to Tatcha. It’s worth a go.
So what makes Tatcha so special?
My foundation sat on it perfectly (usually my dry skin patches look exaggerated in close ups) and my skin didn’t feel heavy or weigh down. . skin), it extended the life of my makeup on top and in the end my skin looked just… so nicely put together.
It’s pricey, but considering how little you use, it should last quite a while.
Honestly, I was pretty obsessed with it and it landed in my makeup bag, so now I’m in the habit of reapplying the primer.
Everything about this feels luxurious, from the packaging to the effective formula.
Verdict: Taniel approves.
