Two men suspected of stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from two Ulta Beauty stores in Sonoma County on Sunday were arrested in Petaluma leading police in a 110 mph chase, authorities said.
It’s the second time in less than three weeks that Ulta stores in both cities have been robbed on the same day.
The first robbery on Sunday occurred at an Ulta store on Kenilworth Drive in Petaluma.Reported to police around 11:30 a.m.
According to the Petaluma Police Department bulletin, three men drove off with a bag full of goods.
The next incident, which involved three men removing merchandise and driving away, was reported at about 12:45 p.m. at an Ulta store in Santa Rosa’s Coddingtown Mall, police said.
Santa Rosa Police said police found the suspected thief’s vehicle on Highway 101 heading south.
As officers tried to stop the car, the driver sped past other vehicles and ran onto the freeway shoulder, Santa Rosa Police said.
Officers ended the chase for safety after the speed reached 110 miles per hour, according to police.
A short time later, Petaluma Police received a call that three men were dumping perfume in a trash can behind the store on Auto Center Drive.
There was one man in the area when the Petaluma Police arrived at the scene, but he fled. He was taken into custody following a chase and was the registered owner of the car involved in the robbery, police said.
Trezel Heckard, 26, of Vallejo, was incarcerated in the Sonoma County Jail on charges of grand theft, conspiracy, resisting arrest, and violating parole.
More than three hours later, at 4:15 p.m., someone at the same Auto Center store called the police and reported that someone was looking into the trash can.
Petaluma Police said responding officers stopped a man trying to drive away from the area and said “there was no logical reason for him to be in the area”. believe.
A Sacramento man named Carlyn Irwin, 27, was incarcerated at the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy and driving with a suspended license.
Petaluma Police said they were “seeking leads on a third suspect and will seek criminal charges as soon as he is identified.”
An estimated $6,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from a store in Santa Rosa, police said.
Previous robberies against Ulta stores in Sonoma County occurred on August 22 at Petaluma stores in Kenilworth and Santa Rosa Avenue in Santa Rosa.
Police arrested five suspects in connection with these cases.
