Page Six reportedly had two families behind this season’s New York Fashion Week show. A brand founded by two sisters, the Deviate show was run by a mother-daughter team.
Kelly Cutrone, 56, is a veteran producer and reality star behind fashion PR firm People’s Revolution, who hired Parsons College student daughter Ava Cutrone to join the fashion industry for two years. It organized the event for the rising star of the brand, designer Kelsey Tucker, and the brains behind the business, Cassidy. Tucker.
The check-in desk was staffed by Ava’s childhood friends and college buddies.
Meanwhile, Catrone’s former ‘America’s New Top Model’ judge associate Nigel Barker and his wife Chrissie Barker were watching their A 13-year-old daughter walking through the Tuckers show.
Married to the Mob designer Leah McSweeney wasn’t associated with anyone at the event as far as we know, but was in the standing room audience at the Altman Building. Hospitality Impresario Andrew Chapman and Josh Wyatt.
According to Deviete’s website, the Detroit-based sisters went in different directions at the start of their careers. Kelsey moved to Los Angeles and worked under leading designers including Vera Wang while Cassidy entered the world of entrepreneurship and startups. But they’ve since combined their interests to collaborate on a brand they say is “at the intersection of art, fashion and community.”
The pair were showcasing their fifth collection of environmentally sustainable American-made fashion.
