    The Ruth B. Kaul Rehabilitation Center Board of Directors and Joe Brand held a press conference Thursday at a luxury apparel store to announce the fundraising event Runway for a Cause.

    The fashion show will take place on November 10th at the Laredo Country Club.

    Russell Cerda, recently appointed chairman of the RBC board, announced the event and called for the generosity of the community.

    “We are here today to announce a fundraising event hosted by Joe Brand and the Deutsch family. We are here to ask for the support of the entire community for this event,” he said. I was.

    In addition to fashion shows, Cerda said there will be raffles and live auctions.

    Cerda also spoke about the growing need for the Ruthe B. Cowl Rehabilitation Center. This is due to the increasing number of people seeking services.

    “With the onset of COVID and the number of people who continue to have problems due to the disease and the epidemic of COVID, we need to expand our services and reach more people. From Laredo.” He said.

    Serda also said that the new situation has added additional positions to the board to raise more funding and expand efforts.

    “We are a young board,” he said. “I recently became Chairman of the Board and have added several new Board positions to expand our efforts.

    “We want to be able to have a greater impact on our fundraising capacity. The more people who help us, the more likely we are to provide more services to our communities through our rehabilitation centers.” “

    Cerda thanks Joe Brand and the community for their support.

    Jacqueline Rodriguez, executive director of Ruthe B. Cowl, also asked for help from the community.

    “Now, more than ever, Ruth B. Kaul needs the help of the community. We have always helped patients in need of rehabilitation, but as you know our center Those in need are no exception. “More than helping and supporting our center, this is an investment in our family’s future.”

    She said she has seen an increase in people needing rehabilitation services because of COVID.

    “Right now, besides our regular patients, we have patients who have been sickened by COVID, who have been disabled, and who sometimes need to learn to walk, talk and eat again. It’s been a tremendous life change and I’m trying to help them reach their highest goals so they can regain lost skills.”

    She also thanked Joe Brand for helping Ruthe B. Cowl with this fundraising event.

    “The Joe Brand family has done a lot of fundraising, especially this is a great event. It’s like a New York or Paris fashion show with professional models and great designers,” she said. rice field.

    She added that the last time she hosted “Runway for a Cause,” she raised $200,000.
