New Delhi: Ridhima Kapoor Thani makes her runway debut at London Fashion Week to open the show for British ace fashion designer Helen Anthony. This is the first time the influencer and Indian jewelry designer has walked the runway on the international stage. Riddhima kicks off the show wearing her own creations and her Anthony creations.
“I’ve always been proud of the shows I’ve walked in India, but I’m excited and nervous. It’s my first time walking an international platform, even at London Fashion Week. There are two looks, and I trust Anthony completely, so I can’t wait to see what they look like,” Sahni says.
The show will take place at Parckcro in London on 19th September 2022 and will feature exclusive Riddhima X Punjab Jeweller jewelery paired with Anthony’s clothing. Together, the two brands will bring to life the great design heritage of their respective regions and enable the exchange of crafts on this world-renowned platform.
It is also the first time the jewelery designer has showcased her work to a global audience. “The show is about East meets West and this collaboration is very close to my heart. There have been numerous Zoom calls between both teams to plan this. I am glad that we are on the same page, my collection is entitled “Samara”. Inspired by my daughter, it is a fusion of East and West, mixing contemporary pieces as well as Polki and Diamond statement her designs,” Ridhima adds.
The runway showcases a plethora of jewelery made using time-honored techniques such as kundan polki, jadau and minakali. Traditional yellow and white gold necklaces, earrings, bracelets and waist belts are combined with Anthony’s modern silhouette.
