LebTown is ready to kick off the weekend with a different Lebanese County pet every Friday.
Pet of the week can be a local Fur Baby who already lives in a happy Lebanese County home. spotlight on.
This week we get to meet Beauty and Mikey…a sad story looking for a happy ending!
The bonded pair was brought to the Lebanon County Humanitarian Society in April after the owner passed away.
“What an upheaval in their humble lives,” said a spokesperson for the shelter. However, their story “remains unclear.”
“They apparently spent most of their lives outdoors…then could be in the garage being cared for daily,” the spokesperson said. “Beauty exposes the scars of hard times. She had her eyes damaged by a serious infection at some point in her life. And when she arrived, she was very sick with a respiratory infection. She was placed in isolation… treated with various antibiotics and even had a chest x-ray and a visit to the local vet to make sure it was nothing more. .
Beauty was diagnosed with asthma. She’s a happy girl, she’s reserved and shy, but I can understand why. “
Mikey is a “very sweet boy”, estimated to be 4 or 5 years old. “The beauty looks old, but her missing teeth make it difficult to determine her exact age,” a shelter representative explained. “She eats well and she loves watching the birds outside the window.”
The relationship between the two cats is difficult to determine, but it is believed to be mother and son. But what is clear is that they don’t like to leave.
Mikey was placed on the adoption floor while Beauty received treatment. “While away, Mikey began tearing at his fur and appeared very stressed. We were brought back together with Beauty.” Now both are available for adoption, but only as a pair. “Mikey is Beauty’s guardian. He takes care of her while they both live in her room in the cat community.”
The Humane Society said, “We are looking for a wonderful family to give these two decompression time. Someone who understands their known and unknown pasts, their consistency, and most of all, their unconditional love.” Help two precious souls find new beginnings.”
