Cincinnati — WCPO 9’s weekday lifestyle show, Cincy Lifestyle, promoted Pete Scalia to full-time host and introduced two new members of the host team: Mikhail Hughes Shaw and Michelle Hopkins.
Hughes-Shaw will join the team as a multimedia journalist/complementary host and Hopkins will complete the team as a multimedia journalist/part-time host.

Scalia joined the ‘Cincy Lifestyle’ team in August 2021 as a multimedia content producer. He started hosting full time on his June 15th. Departments located in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus, Ohio. He is also a voice-over artist and professional musician who has opened for Ted Nugent, Bad Company and played keyboards in a funk band produced by Bootsy Collins.

Hughes-Shaw has an extensive media background that includes television reporting, magazine writing, podcasting, and social media management. She has won the Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in her Reporting Digital and most recently Quads She has worked as the host of her WHBF-TV Lifestyles show “Living Local” in Cities. rice field. Hughes-Shaw holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and a Certificate in Significant Cultural Competence from the University of Iowa. She is a former Miss Iowa and advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention during her tenure.

Hopkins previously worked at WCPO 9 as an anchor/reporter in the late 1990s. Since then, Hopkins has continued his media involvement with the Morning News as anchorman, WLWT consumer reporter, video and radio host, message development, media and diversity. Consulting to help start his business.
Her ties to the three states are strong, and she has directed community relations and engagement programs for Head Start Recruitment/Community Outreach, Mercy Health, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Hopkins said, “I am very excited about this opportunity to return to television, especially WCPO 9, after a challenging career in healthcare.” You can follow what you believe in. It’s a fun show with a great connection to the community. I feel like I’m living my best life.”

“Cincy Lifestyle” is an original local lifestyle show that offers informative, helpful and fun content. Advertisers buy time within the show to feature new and unique aspects of their business. The show will air on weekdays at 10:00 a.m. on WCPO 9 and will feature local organizations, businesses and happenings across the region.
The team of Scalia, Hughes-Shaw and Hopkins will debut on August 22nd.
