Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV) – Metro Nashville is celebrating National Black Business Month with a series of black business-focused events like tonight’s Nashville Black Market event.
Xavier Payne, owner of XPayne Art, said:
The reason the Nashville Black Market was launched in 2018 is to appreciate and support black businesses.
“There are a lot of people who know how to do what they need to show but don’t have the opportunity to showcase it, so I felt the urge to put it out there for the community to see. said Javvon Jones, co-owner of Nashville Black Market.
Xavier Payne, owner of X-Pain Art, Xavier Payne is one of more than 75 black-owned businesses on display at the Farmer’s Market on Friday night. His art is a form of storytelling.
“A lot of things came out of Black Pop Art, just talking about what it’s like to be a black American,” Payne said.
August is National Black Business Month. The city emphasizes black-owned businesses and encourages consumers to support these businesses throughout the metropolitan area.
“Black small businesses are very important. We are trying to do what we can to encourage black small business adoption.
Nashville chance advantage. You are committed to all this growth and development and opportunity and let’s make it work for us,” said Mayor Cooper.
Ajia Bouchee has just recently become an entrepreneur. She launched her Unjarred to sell detox water and promote the importance of good health.
“I myself am in the health industry and do a lot of exercise.
She encourages others to start their entrepreneurial journeys if they have a product to share.
Don’t wait until tomorrow. Start today. You honestly have it, so just believe in yourself. The Nashville Black Market is held on the first Friday of every month at the Nashville Farmers Market. In the future, the co-owners plan to expand Nashville’s Black Market into a commercial space where consumers can shop with black businesses 24/7.
