M’tucci’s Restaurants founders Jeff Spiegel and Katie Gardner don’t have Italian food on their menus.
The two are heading in different directions with their latest business venture, working with their son-in-law Evan Kinsley on a sustainable housing development under the name Spiegel Kinsley Construction. Spiegel is a founding partner of the new company, and Kinsley serves as lead general contractor, president and partner, according to a company news release.
The newly formed company has put one of its completed properties on the market with a price tag of $1.1 million. A company spokesperson said he currently has 11 properties under construction in a development in Las Placitas.
“At M’tucci’s restaurants, we make as much of our ingredients in-house as possible and are intentional about how we source the rest,” Spiegel said in a statement. “We apply the same philosophy to home construction. Our homes are setting a new standard for beautiful, sustainable and long-lasting homes.”
Each home in the company’s first development is between 2,700 and 3,000 square feet, with up to 1,500 square feet of outdoor covered space.
According to a news release issued last Friday, Spiegel-Kinsley Construction’s focus is on net-zero homes (homes that produce more energy than they use) and sustainable building materials, energy Built with recuperative ventilation, electric vehicle charging stations and naturally occurring xeriscapes. Areas and low input landscapes.
