Hollywood is full of hipster and historic hotspots far beyond Rodeo Drive and Melrose Avenue.
Fashion and Los Angeles have a special synergy. Red at the Oscars is where celebrities show off their style, whether it’s on his carpet or being snapped out of the car by the paparazzi. But other than shopping destinations like The Grove and Robertson Boulevard, where does the fashionista go after his long day of boutique shopping?
A new rooftop bar in the heart of Hollywood has been put on the map as a hot fashion spot.
Bar Lis is a rooftop bar, lounge and nightclub at the Thompson Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood that brings a touch of France to the star-studded strip.
In the 1960s, she dreamed of becoming a singer and fled to the French Riviera to perform for Hollywood stars who visited the South of France.

“Hollywood, and Los Angeles itself, has historically accommodated creative sets,” Puga said. “Bar Lis provides a place for like-minded people to escape from the skies above the city and enjoy world-class live music and DJ sets.”
Bar Lis has seen many VIPs stroll its grounds, including The Weeknd, Rita Ora, Drake, Taika Waititi, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Lil Nas X. DJs who have performed here include Diplo and Tove Lo.
It is also used by local Angelenos as a business meeting point. Puga adds: “The area is attracting both locals and tourists alike for night outings in an area that used to see little foot traffic.”
Moving forward, there will be a monthly burlesque series called ‘Femme Follies’ featuring Miss Tosh, the founder of the world-famous Beauty of Burlesque. Also every Tuesday, Bar Lis hosts Jazz Eclectic LA, a live night of modern jazz for locals and visitors alike. Every Thursday through Saturday night there are guest DJs including talents such as Les Filles’ Ashley Smith and Bec Adams, Ana Calderon, Rick Trainor and Wade Crescent.
