Columbus, GA (WTVM) – The Harris County Health Department was one of the first to offer a new format Covid-19 test in the West Central Health District.
Just outside the front steps of the building is a kiosk that provides access to self-administered PCR Covid-19 test kits.
“This is another convenient way for people to get tested for Covid-19,” said Pamela Kirkland, the district’s public relations coordinator.
People living in this area usually resort to going to the next closest town. It saves time, especially when there is uncertainty about exposure.
The kiosk’s goal is to provide accurate testing every time. Tests are conveniently available outside of normal business hours.
The process is quick, easy, and has no upfront costs.
“With gas prices pretty high right now, this is a big savings. We’ll probably use the kiosks now,” says Harris County resident Caleb Williamson.
Once you arrive at the kiosk, fill out a short registration form. No reservation required. After that, test kits will soon be on sale.
Inside the kit you will find instructions for performing nasal swabs and tests.
