Flint, Michigan – The Hamilton Community Health Network is celebrating National Health Center Week this year with events focused on strengthening communities.
National Health Center Week is an annual celebration held in August that aims to raise awareness of the efforts and achievements of health centers.
According to the National Association of Community Health Centers, community health centers are pillars of strength, hope and care within the communities they serve.
This year National Health Center Week is from August 7th to 13th.
Hamilton’s celebration plans run from Tuesday, August 9th through Friday, August 12th.
According to a Hamilton news release, the free event is specifically focused on helping strengthen communities by providing and providing access to those in need of resources.
A Community Outreach Day is scheduled for Tuesday, August 9, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the parking lot of the Hamilton Flint Clinic at 812 Root Street, which is also the Center for Hope.
This event is for community members struggling to find a place to call home.
During the event, Hamilton will provide free laundry, free showers, socks and underwear, closets, hygiene kits, snacks, water bottles, food trucks for lunch, music and fun.
Hamilton will host a senior brunch and learning for residents of 800 E. Court St. 800 McFarlan Court Street Villages on Wednesday, August 10, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Find resources on food, educational sessions, fitness, conversations and wellness. Seating is limited to 45 people. Those wishing to attend should RSVP to Tim McCarron, his coordinator for lead outreach at 810-406-4246 ext. 810-406-4246. 4955.
The final day of celebration will be Hamilton’s annual Family Fun Day on Friday, August 12th from 10am to 2pm at Hamilton’s Main Clinic (2900 N. Saginaw St). , games, cooking demos from Chef Nate, health resources and more. The event is free and open to the public.
