In her TEDx talk, Shivani Patil says she was very shy growing up. She was nervous about doing basic things like ordering at a restaurant or answering the phone.
Diagnosed with spelling and dyslexia, she attended fashion shows when she entered college. That’s what gave her her true confidence. She also realized how much she loves fashion and glamour. She then participated in a pageant and it changed her life.

“For the first time, my desire to do something overcame my lack of confidence,” she says in the video.
She didn’t win the contest, but it helped her emerge as a changed individual. It took her some time to find her footing, but she eventually graduated from college and became famous as her fashion blogger as well.
“I have traveled the world with brands, attended events, appeared in magazines and newspapers, started many conversations and done everything I never thought I could do.”
She also talks about how she compared her life to others. “nothing [in real life] Perfect as online. “
“I still get scared and insecure about doing little things, but being in this industry has taught me to be better than that. Courage and growth come only when you allow yourself to be seen and step out of your shell.
