Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Main Line Health have announced a partnership agreement to transfer Main Line Health’s pediatric care and services from Nemur’s Children’s Health. In addition to its offices in the Delaware Valley, Nemours operates a children’s hospital near Wilmington.
End a quarter-century relationship between healthcare providers.
CHOP physicians and advanced care providers care for pediatric patients at selected Main Line Health locations. Pediatric nursing and support staff currently employed at Main Line Health hospitals will remain.
All members of the Nemours team, based at Main Line Health hospital, were offered the opportunity to stay at Nemours or consider hiring CHOP. No jobs will be eliminated by Nemours, according to the statement.
“Nemours Children’s Health has been a proud partner of Main Line Health for 25 years. Continue to provide superior, family-centered pediatric care to families in southeastern Pennsylvania at a location in Nemours Children’s Health, Delaware.
CHOP will begin adding services in April 2022 and will open a new CHOP outpatient specialty care center on the Bryn Mawr Hospital campus this fall.
Madeleine Bell, CEO of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, said: “Advancing this partnership is our shared dedication to improving the health of children, and we look forward to working together to advance pediatric patient care.”
“Nemours has been a valued partner of Main Line Health for 25 years. We look forward to bringing care, programs and services to the youngest patients and families around the world,” said Jack Lynch, CEO of Main Line Health.
Over the years, Nemours has expanded its presence in the Philadelphia area beyond its partnership with Main Line Health. We also opened an office in Delaware. In addition to the Delaware Valley, Nemours has children’s hospitals and affiliate offices in northern and central Florida.
