The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a National Night Out Block Party at the 800 Block on Linden Avenue on Wednesday, August 10 from 6-9pm in the Carpinteria.
National Nights Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships, fostering local camaraderie to make communities safer, more caring to live and work in.
The Sheriff’s Office is partnering with communities and related agencies to provide opportunities to reconnect outdoors at events hosted by Deputy Director of Community Resources Brian Dickey.
Sheriff’s office staff, including K9 units, parents, and Human Resources detectives interact with members of the community. Carpinteria Fire and California State Parks representatives, agents from the DEA Ventura Field Office, and Donuts, a therapy dog from the Santa Barbara County Fire Agency Regional Peer Support Team, will also participate.
National Project Coordinator Matt Peskin said:
“When law enforcement and communities work closely together, amazing things can happen.”
“I look forward to spending time with members of the Carpinteria community and introducing them to my colleagues at the Sheriff’s Department,” Dickie said. “We are bringing various team members from the Sheriff’s Office to this event, along with allied agencies and community groups, for a fun summer evening.”
