PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh head coach Jeff Capel was among 10 recipients of awards announced by The Josh Gibson Foundation at a luncheon at PNC Park’s Homeplate Club Friday, Aug. 5.
The luncheon, emceed by WTAE-TV Anchor & Sports Director Andrew Stockey, was part of a three-day series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of Josh Gibson being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. The Foundation presented their Golden Anniversary Awards, G.I.B.S.O.N. Awards, and college scholarship at the luncheon. The award winners were:
