Happy final day of New York Fashion Week! As we brace for London (and Milan and Paris), we reflect on some of the weirdest and wildest beauty moments from the past five days.
The best NYFW beauty look wasn’t about rosy cheeks or a perfect updo, it was about making a statement. Let’s dive in.
Collinastrada clay-covered braids
Maverick Hairstylist Evanie Fraust (the brain behind Nicole Kidman’s “Jellyfish Cut”) applied Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay to the top of the model’s head. This is a touch inspired by designer Hilary Taymor’s visits to volcanic baths in Southern Europe. The likes of Ellaemhoff and Harihi Neff paraded down the runways in pink and green clay-encrusted noggins, while others wore ultra-long braids, also coated in healing clay, and tucked into a train. I dragged behind like that.
Broken lip filler and crooked teeth in Barragan

The duck lips didn’t look very good. At Barragan, her make-up artist Yadim Karanza put plump prosthetic lips on models, transforming them into med spa addicts. A salacious social commentary on post-coronavirus America, the collection was further complemented by crooked, yellow, and utterly unattractive dentures.
Sandy Liang body jewel

Sandy Liang’s low-rise schoolgirl skirt and slouchy trousers expose the model’s midriff and hips, perfect for embellishing with crystals. Downtown designer clouds and bow-shaped bodies Her jewelery just highlighted her Y2K erogenous zone.
puppet and puppet pimple patches
Pimple patches are likely to become your new favorite accessory. Makeup Her artist Farrah Midi pasted Starface’s upcoming black patches under her model’s eyes, cheekbones, and above her lips to create a mole-like effect. Homidi created “gloves” using star-shaped stickers and stuck them all over her hands and arms.
Marni watercolor frame
Carranza created beauty magic again with Marni, painting the model’s forehead with an ombre gradient of orange, blue and purple. These shades complement Francesco Risso’s sunset-like palette.
Eckhaus Latta sticky skin

Even if there was an Instagrammable beauty moment, the Eckhaus Latta model showed off skincare on the runway. Before departure, the model’s face was brushed with Freeman’s Beauty Infusion his peel-off his mask for a very glossy and otherworldly look.
