Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Beau Priegnitz as a full-time Assistant Sports Information Director. Beau joined the athletics information team in early July.
Priegnitz’s most recent position was the assistant sports information director at NCAA Division II Wayne State. His duties included calling and inputting live statistical information for the Wildcats, assistance with updating athlete and coaching bios for the WSC athletic website and updating record books and historical archives.
Prior to his role at Wayne State, he worked in the sports information department at Southwest Minnesota State where he earned his bachelor’s degree in December 2021. While at SMSU, Priegnitz had a significant role in stat input for multiple sports including the 2017 NCAA Division II Central Region Volleyball Tournament. He assisted with photography, design work, record updates, archiving and much more.
Priegnitz also served one year at Colorado School of Mines where he was a full-time assistant coach with the Oredigger football team and, as a student, was also a full-time instructor teaching three classes. As an assistant football coach, Priegnitz was responsible for helping to manage team travel, scouting, film acquisition and helping organize practices.
DWU Director of Sports Information Brandt McCall spoke on the hiring of Priegnitz stating, “Beau will be a great addition to the sports information office and the teams he will be working with. He has a vast knowledge of various sports that has served him well during his previous stops and I’m certain it will have the same impact here in Tiger nation.”
