Momentum is building around the alcohol-free movement in Los Angeles, as evidenced by this weekend’s alcohol-free craft cocktail pop-up at Marvista.
Sober curiosities can head to Alana’s Coffee Roasters on Saturday, September 24th for a non-alcoholic cocktail party hosted by Zero Proofed and featuring a live karaoke band. At least the pop-up definitely answers the question of what you can do when you omit the alcohol while singing in front of strangers. He costs $5 to sing, and attendance is required to attend.
Pop-ups are the latest in a zero-proof trend sweeping Southern California. Los Angeles recently opened two non-alcoholic bottle shops. Soft Spirits landed on Silver Lake last October and New His Bar in Venice opened his July.
Saint & Second Expands to Manhattan Beach
Saint & Second in Long Beach is expanding into Manhattan Village. Toddrickallen reports that construction is underway at Manhattan Beach shopping centers in Sepulveda and Rosecrans.
Children’s exhibits celebrating Mexican culture
LAist visited an interactive restaurant exhibit at the Pretend City Children’s Museum in Irvine. This is a mini replica of her Claire Risoli’s restaurant Pocha LA in Highland Park. The exhibit, which celebrates Central America and Mexico’s Independence Day, will run until Spring 2023.
