New York Fashion Week is all about delivering looks, so it’s no surprise that many LGBTQ+ celebrities did just that at this year’s event.
Just weeks after Lil Nas X was named YSL Beauty’s new ambassador, the Grammy-winning rapper made his runway debut for another iconic brand, Coach. At Coach’s Spring/Summer 23 fashion show on Sept. 12, she rocked a black leather vest with silver accents and coordinating shorts, long braids, chrome nail polish, and sparkly gold. wearing a clutch.

Coach also collaborated with the ‘industry rapper’ hitmaker to unveil a custom tour wardrobe for his ‘Long Live Montero’ world tour. Appearances include his crystal-encrusted pink football jersey, gold gladiator suit, and even his coach’s signature western outfit, which sports horses.
That same day, Venezuelan DJ and musician Arca was a surprise model at the show for luxury brand Proenza Schouler. The transgender artist led the finale walk set to “El Alma que te trajo,” a reggaeton collaboration with fellow Venezuelan artist Luis Galvan, who has previously sung Calvin. Participating in campaigns for Klein and Loewe, he also made a cameo appearance in Bottega Veneta’s pre-fall 2021 lookbook.
